The British Swim School is all about students having fun while they are developing swim skills. We provide a loving and nurturing environment, full of creative teaching methods to ensure that each student is comfortable and confident in the water.
All our classes are taught through fun and imaginative routines, and provide learning and fitness experiences your child will enjoy for the rest of their life. You will also be able to enjoy your time in and around water knowing that your child is safe.
Our classes are 30 minutes long and your child can register ANYTIME for a once a week or a twice a week program. We have low teacher to pupil ratios in all classes and if required we can offer private classes for any age.

Our mission is to teach every baby, toddler, child and adult to become safe and happy in water. Drowning is the single leading cause of accidental death in children under 5 years of age. Year-round water survival skills are vital here in South Florida.
We have been dedicated to saving lives for over 25yrs, and our survival skills are based on teaching beginners, of all age groups, that the ability to float on their back is the most important survival skill of all. It enables all swimmers to rest, call for help if necessary, and to avert the silent danger of floating face down. Over many years the owner of the British Swim Schools, Rita Goldberg, has worked constantly to develop, improve and fine tune these methods and we now have the ability to teach even 6 month babies to roll over onto their backs. All our teaching is a gradual, gentle and fun process geared towards complete water safety and independence in the water.
Rita Goldberg was a national swimmer in Britain, who went on to become a dedicated teacher. She worked in the British education system for many years before leaving to open her own private swim school in 1981. The pool was built in the basement of a Victorian house in Manchester, England and was the first privately owned swim school in the country.
It was here that she developed teaching unique methods that have become a recognized trademark of the British Swim School. Still the driving force behind the success of the four indoor schools here in the USA, she is fully intent on growing the business even further. She is an active member of the US Swim School Association serving as a board member for three years. A key player in educating the local community about the importance of year-round swimming lessons her belief, and our company motto, is survival of the littlest.
