What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for attractive, everyday people of ALL ages, sizes and types - outgoing, energetic people with who the general public can identify. Remember, personality is every bit as important as appearance! Beginners and experienced talent are welcomed.
In the case of children, one of the first things we look for is their ability to take simple directions. Also, how well behaved is your child? Answer honestly, Mom! If your child is hyper active or ill mannered, it does not matter how adorable he or she is, this is not the business for them
As for teens and adults, energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude count for a lot! When you turn on your TV, if you see people like yourself on commercials, then you have a fairly good clue that you are in the right place. Please keep in mind that we have cast people from newborns to eighty years plus.
How The Industry Works
Okay let's take a few minutes to tell you a little bit about us (Avenue Productions), and the model and talent industry.
Avenue is a licensed, full service commercial model and talent agency. We have been in business since 1991 and are licensed by The Department Of Professional Regulations. We supply talent for Movies, TV Commercials, Catalogs, Music Videos and TV. We use kids to seniors. Every day real people. Model types and all ethnicities.
We have no registration or sign-up fee. We get a commission off any job we get you. Every day we receive castings by phone or fax from the casting directors, production companies and advertising companies. These castings have breakdowns requesting very specific types of people. We then go to our files and pick out the composites and headshots that best fit the description and send a package to the casting director. (These are the tools of the trade!)
Today, in these modern times, they also go to our website. After receiving our submissions (composites, headshots and web pages) the casting directors pick the talent they like and call us.
Either you will be booked by the picture we submitted or you will be asked to go on a "Go See", "Casting", or "Audition".
All phone calls from our clients in regards to working with our models go through us. We are the middle man. So if you are booked for a job (Movie, Commercial, TV Series, Music Video, etc.) through our agency (Avenue) we will call you right away. It's not necessary to call us because we are always actively working for you. We are working hard for you because that's how we make our money. For every job you book through us we receive a 20% commission.
Do I Have A Chance?
Please understand that the way you look is only 50% of what it takes to succeed in this field. You must be willing to work as hard as we do. It takes a certain amount of persistence and a tough shell. You must ask yourself the following questions:
Will I make a commitment to send out my composites on a regular basis and then follow up with phone calls?
Do I have the patience to sit at a casting call for several hours? WITHOUT complaining!
How flexible are my hours?
Do I have a positive mental attitude?
Do I have a winning personality?
Am I prepared to start NOW?
