Reading Tutoring
In concert with the most recent literacy standards, Sylvan offers reading tutoring programs that are phonics-based, systematic, intensive, and most importantly, proven to raise reading levels. Whether it's getting on par with their peers or for enrichment, students learn to love reading and attack new texts.

Math Tutoring
Sylvan's math tutoring programs help students reduce math anxiety, master math concepts and build a deep understanding of math essentials from which they learn more advanced math skills. Our tutoring programs in math range from the basics through pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus and other high-level math courses.

Writing Tutoring
Our approach to writing tutoring features individualized instruction to help students at all levels master the process of writing with ease: organizing thoughts, communicating ideas and increasing vocabulary.

Study Skills
Sylvan's Study Skills program was created to help children become better students. They approach schoolwork and homework in a whole new way after applying their new skills in studying, organization and test-taking.

State Test Preparation
Sylvan equips students with confidence-building practice strategies for the most common types of questions asked on K-12 state exams.

SAT/ACT Test Preparation
Thousands of students have benefited from Sylvan's SAT/ACT prep course by significantly raising their scores. In fact, three out of four prep students raise their scores 160 points or more and dramatically increase their chances for admission to the college of their choice.

Academic Camps
Sylvan's Academic Camps are designed to be fun and academically enriching activities for children during school breaks. Usually one to two weeks long, Sylvan camps cover a variety of subjects and grade levels. It's a fun approach to learning when school is out.

Courses for Credit
In some areas, Sylvan's tutoring programs can also be taken as courses for credit, for which students earn high school credits. It's perfect for families who are home schooling, high schoolers needing credits for graduation or college-bound students wanting to get ahead.
