The adoption home study is the essential document for any adoption. It is a psychosocial report that must comply with State requirements and, in the case of international adoptions, with the requirements of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the adoption country. ABA Adoption Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit adoption agency, qualified to complete adoption home studies for any country.
Although the adoption home study process can seem overwhelming at first glance, the staff at ABA Adoption Services, Inc. is trained and experienced in completing domestic and international home studies and will assist you throughout your adoption home study experience.
The adoption home study is a very important step in the adoption process because it strives to ensure, as much as possible, that an adopted child will be raised in a permanent, safe, loving and nurturing home. The adoption home study includes an inspection of your home, a review of pertinent documentation, such as criminal background checks, income and employment verification, references, medical examinations, autobiographical information, experience with children, and your motivation and views about adoption. The adoption home study is conducted by a licensed clinical social worker who, in addition to interviewing you, will provide you with adoptive parenting information and will be able to answer your questions. We understand that being asked to answer many personal questions can be intimidating and stressful and our staff will help you through it by providing expert assistance, information and support.
