La Prima Casa opened it's doors in January 2005. It is proud to be the only international Montessori school in Miami, Florida, and is accredited by the Association Montessori International (AMI). It is a non-sectarian school located within the Immanuel Lutheran Church grounds on Brickell Avenue. At present, there are two programs offered at the school; a toddler program (18 months to 3 years) and a primary program (3 - 6 years).
La Prima Casa along with Primera Languages is proud to announce the beginning of our new language program. Mandarin classes along with Chinese culture will be taught at our campus.
Montessori children have learned to work independently and in mixed age groups. Since they've been encouraged to make decisions from an early on, these children are problem-solvers who can make appropriate choices and have learned to manage their time well. They have been encouraged to exchange ideas and discuss their work freely with others. Their good communication skills ease the way in new settings.
Research has shown that the best predictor of future success is a positive sense of self-esteem. Montessori programs, based on self-directed, non-competitive activities, help children develop strong self-images and the confidence to face challenges and change with optimism.
